Brockholes is Lancashire’s newest nature reserve located just of junction 31 on the M6. It is owned by the Wildlife trust for Lancashire , Manchester and North Merseyside. Brockholes is one of the best sites in the U.K for many species of birds and has one of the largest strips of ancient woodland in the country. you can take a stroll by the River Ribble, explore our woods or enjoy the lakes on site. The floating visitors village offers a gift shop, restaurant and stunning views across the lake. There is also an interactive visitors centre and a whole host of organised activities. Check out their web site www.brockholes.org for half term and Hallowe’en acivities. There is a very modest car-parking charge and entry is free—- only a small charge for the activities. We really enjoyed our visit there and I can really recommend the carrot cake. Still some vacancies for half term so give us a ring.
